Government to cut tradeshow funding for fashion businesses

UKTI, the UK's trade and investment body that supports growing fashion businesses by supporting their export success, is to cut its funding for international trade shows.

When fashion companies register for international trade shows theycan apply for a grant via TAP, the Tradeshow Access Programme, provided by the UKTI to support SME exporters.

Funding has been cut to 1 millions pounds for the fourth quarter of the current financial year running to April, with the previous quarter being 3 million pounds of funding.

The move will hit those hoping to attend international trade shows between January and March 2015 to show ranges for the autumn 15 season.
