Although Anthony Vaccarello may be in the midst of unveiling his new look for French fashion house Yves Saint Laurent, former creative director Hedi Slimane still has some unfinished business with its parent company Kering. The designer has launched a lawsuit against Kering over the fashion company's non-competition obligation.

According to a report from Reuters, Kering removed the non-competition clause from Slimane's contract at the end of his tenure, leaving him free to take up the creative reins as he sees fit. However, this apparently did not sit well with Slimane, who is now requesting that the clause be reinstated and the financial compensation attached to it still paid out.

"Kering lifted this clause at the end of Hedi Slimane's contract, thus freeing Hedi Slimane from this potential constraint," said the company in a statement. "Hedi Slimane is requesting that this clause be applied still, along with the effective payment of the financial compensation that goes with it."

The fashion conglomerate noted that this lawsuit did not detract Hedi Slimane achievements for the French fashion house. News of the lawsuit dispels several rumours speculating where Hedi Slimane was off to next.
