Hercules Unit Trust (HUT), the trust that is advised by real estate company British land and invests in retail warehouses and shopping centres in the United Kingdom, has invested 80 million pounds to extend all four of its shopping park assets. With their investment, HUT created one thousand new retail jobs.

In the press release that HUT issued, the investor states that the money was invested in the Glasgow Fort Shopping Park, the Deepdale Shopping Park in Preston, Fort Kinnaird in Edinburgh and Broughton Shopping Park in Chester. In total, the four shopping parks gained an extra space of 300.000 square feet.

Ben Grose, head of retail assets at British land, said the following about HUT´s most recent investment programme: “The extensions at Glasgow, Edinburgh, Chester and Preston are further examples of HUT investing in its assets to create locally preferred places where we can add value.”

HUT is largest retail warehouse property unit trust in the United Kingdom. The trust currently owns and manages sixteen retail and shopping parks.
