Time Inc. has announced that InStyle UK, consumer fashion magazine, is set to shutter its print magazine and relaunch next year as a “digital first brand” as part of a new strategy to directly address the shifting needs of its target audience.
The decision will see InStyle UK December issue be released as its final print issue. The new digital strategy will see the InStyle UK team, led by Charlotte Moore, work directly with the team in the US to leverage the magazine’s reach and accelerate its growth online in the UK. By joining the two teams, InStyle will be able to offer its audience 24-hour content offering and offer more daily stories and videos than before.
“What we have achieved with InStyle over the last few years has been hugely rewarding and the team has, rightly, won numerous awards and nominations for their work across print and digital,” says editor Charlotte Moore. “But the fashion world is changing dramatically, the way our audience interacts with it is changing and we have to change to meet that challenge.”
“With a focus on delivering the InStyle experience across all digital platforms, we can really give our audience 24-hour access to all the fashion and beauty looks, trends and brands they clearly have such a huge appetite for.” The InStyle UK team will be charged with creating inspiring, relevant and relatable
The InStyle UK team has been tasked with creating inspiring and relevant fashion, beauty and lifestyle content, which will be accompanied by content of the best of the international red carpet, celebrity, style and service from US InStyle team to offer unique content.
“This new focus for InStyle means we can propel it to a leading position in the UK digital fashion space,” added Justine Southall, Time Inc. UK’s managing director, fashion and beauty. “InStyle’s authority combined with this significantly boosted content offering will make it a compelling destination for consumers and a very attractive proposition for our advertising partners.”
