London - The top four global fashion capitals of the world - New York, London, Paris and Milan - owe much of their repuation to their successful, bi-annual fashion weeks. But how much money do these fashion events really make? We take a closer look at the economical impact of the final fashion week, namely Paris Fashion Week.

Following in the footsteps of New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week, FashionUnited has gathered together key numbers concerning the economical impact the bi-annual fashion case has on the French capital of fashion. Paris Fashion Week generates 11.5 million euros of income for the city of Paris, with a total income per fashion week of 66 million euros.

  • Total Income: 66 million euros

  • Business Income: 54 million euros
  • Venue Income: 10 million euros
  • Restaurant Income: 18 million euros
  • Retail Income: 21.5 million euros
  • Accommodation Income: 16 million euros
  • Average Visitor Spend: 1.865 euros

According to calculations from FashionUnited, the city of Paris generates 11.5 million euros each season from Paris Fashion Week, which is significantly less than its counterparts in New York and London. This can in part be attributed to the number of unique visitors each fashion week pulls in and local costs.
