Kurt Geiger annual sales jump 18 percent

Kurt Geiger maker of upmarket shoes and accessories, witnessed its sales in Ireland rise by 18 percent last year to 18.7 million euros (20.5 million dollars). Operating profits at Kurt Geiger Ireland more than doubled to 765,000 euros (842,762 dollars).

The label, loved by many celebrities like singer Rihanna, opened its first store in London, way back in 1963. Today, it has over 70 stores globally and over 170 concessions within the world’s most prestigious department stores such as Brown Thomas, Arnotts and Debenhams.

Last year, Cinven, the private equity group took over Kurt Geiger from Sycamore Partners, in a deal worth 245 million pounds (300 million dollars). Earlier, Kurt Geiger was bought by Jones Group, a US fashion group, in 2011, which was then acquired by Sycamore.
