Lacoste faces tax bill of nearly ten million euros, according to L'Informé

Paris - Lacoste has recently been hit with a tax bill of 9.9 million euros, according to a report by media outlet L'Informé published on Wednesday.

“According to our information, Lacoste recently signed a cheque for 9.9 million euros to Bercy to settle a dispute that began four years ago,” writes L'Informé.

“Investigators found that the holding company, which owns numerous group subsidiaries in France and abroad (Germany, Asia, the US, etc.), was not compliant,” it added.

According to the media outlet, the initial bill was for 13.6 million euros, including 3.6 million in surcharges and penalties. Following a challenge from Lacoste, the procedure resulted in a final penalty of 9.9 million euros.

When contacted by AFP, neither the General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFIP) nor Lacoste immediately responded.

The brand with the crocodile logo recently unveiled a new visual identity, notably bringing its emblematic green closer to its original shade.
