Teen fashion retailer Lipsy has axed a number of roles within its wholesale and international merchandising teams at its head office in London following an internal strategic review which aims to strengthen the retailer’s growth overseas.

Lipsy, who did not reveal the exact number of roles cut, attributed the restructuring to its plan to continue meeting “the changing needs of the business.” The British fashion retailer opened 8 new international franchise locations last year and aims to enter Egypt this year, whilst expanding its current overseas presence with the aid of its existing franchise partners in the Middle East and South Africa.

“Lipsy is a true multichannel business which constantly reviews its operations to ensure that our resourcing is aligned with our long-term strategy,” said a spokesperson on the restructuring. “Our proposed restructures will support the growing needs of our international partners.”
