A company owned by Sports Direct’s Mike Ashley is facing a fine for filing accounts six months late.

Mash Holdings was supposed to file its accounts on 23 July 2018, but has not yet done so, meaning the company could face fines of up to 1500 pounds by Company House, according to the BBC.

Mike Ashley has been at the forefront of retail news in the last year, having bought House of Fraser for 90 million pounds in August when the company went into administration. Since then, the retail mogul has been scaling back plans to close half of the UK retailer’s stores.

More recently, Ashley’s name has been in the runnings as a potential buyer for entertainment retailer HMV, which fell into administration in January.
