Fashion retailer New Look has signed a 20-year lease on a 10,000 square foot unit at Kings Mall Shopping Centre in Hammersmith to become the new anchor tenant as part of the ongoing modernisation of the shopping centre.

New Look has acquired two units that formally housed River Island and Starbucks, which are currently being combined for the retailer, and when complete it will feature a double-height frontage. It is expected that the fashion retailer will open in time for Christmas.

In addition, the shopping centre, operated by Schroder UK Real Estate Fund, has also signed a deal with gym chain Frame on a 15-year lease and Italian cosmetics retailer Kiki Milano on a 10-year lease.

Harry Pickering, investment manager for Schroder UK Real Estate Fund, said: “These latest signings demonstrate our commitment to providing quality, exciting amenities for those living and working in Hammersmith and the wider area.

“At the forefront of our ongoing enhancement strategy across our King’s Mall estate is the goal of creating a scheme which encourages people to live, work and play in the area, enjoying the unique lifestyle, retail and leisure brands available to them.”

Schroder UK Real Estate Fund acquired Kings Mall from the Matterhorn Palos Partnership for 153 million pounds in 2015. It has since invested 10 million pounds in redeveloping the shopping centre including adding a new entrance and improvements to the centre’s external frontage and internal communal areas.
