London - Online fashion marketplace Pret a Portobello is currently up for sale.
The fashion e-tailer, which allows independent fashion brands and designers the freedom to sell their products online via 'market stalls' on its site, sale will be handled by Metis Partners, an intellectual property consulting firm.
The intellectual property assets of Pret a Portobello for sale include goodwill in the Pret a Portobello brand, registered trade mark, software, valuable customer and supplier databases, branded domain names and website content.
"Pret a Portobello’s adaptable, ready-to-go e-commerce platform coupled with the iconic brand and reputation amongst fashion savvy buyers has a tremendous growth potential and could help rejuvenate or extend an existing business," said Nat Baldwin from Metis Partners, who will be coordinating the sale. All offers for Pret a Portobello's IP assets should be submitted to Metis Partners by October 13.
Founded in 2008 by three friends - Victoria Uttley, Lisette Vane Percy and Georgina Cooper - Pret a Portobello has grown to become one of the 'go-to' online fashion marketplaces for unconventional and modish shoppers. The marketplace's success has been attributed to its proprietary software, which even lets shoppers bargain with sellers online.
