Leicester-based producer of English socks since 1937, Pantherella is set to merge with HJ Hall to create a “one-stop shop for high-end hosiery”.

The merger will bring together Pantherella’s seasonal designs and casual Scott Nichol collection, with the more technical HJ Hall styles, under the new Pantherella International Group Ltd business.

Pantherella International chief executive Justin Hall said: “We are thrilled to be creating one company, under one roof, which will offer an array of high-end hosiery products. We have some exciting plans for the short, medium and long term, focusing our business whilst still listening to what our customers really want.”

In addition, the group has appointed a new group commercial director, Andrew Townsin, who has been tasked with consolidating the businesses and sharing expertise across the group to form a “strong centre of excellence”. As well as to continue to focus on quality and increase sales and awareness of the brands, especially within the e-commerce side of the business which the group states has shown “immense growth and potential”.

Townsin has worked at a number of premium brands including Aigle, Pepe Jeans and Levi Strauss and Co.

Commenting on his new role, Townsin, added: “I’m delighted to join such an exciting brand with such rich British heritage and family values. It’s an exciting time for UK manufacturing and the hosiery industry as a whole. I look forward to being part of the team that will drive Pantherella to the next level.”
