Pep&Co, Poundsland’s very own foray into the fashion world, is presenting serious competition for the likes of Asda.

As reported by the ‘Independent’, the discount retailer is thought to be expanding sales of its clothing brand Pep&Co to more than 100 stores by the end of the year in an attempt to emulate Asda's George’s success.

Pep&Co was founded by Andy Bond, former boss of George. In a recent interview with the ‘Guardian’, Bond explained that they “are putting clothing into big Poundlands." "We are bringing back to high streets the kind of clothing that was once loved. This is not to shuffle in inflation but about new items,” he added.

From now on, “The relationship between Pep & Co and Poundland will become increasingly significant,“ advanced back in December Pep&Co’s founder. In this regard, Pep&Co’s managing director Adrian Mountford announced earlier this week the company’s plans to open 50 more by the autumn of this year.
