High street staple River Island has unveiled its new digital office,
located in the centre of London's creative and technical hub, Shoreditch.
The new office, which will be home to 70 River Island employees, signals
the shift in the retailer's strategy and places technology and "digital
collaboration" in the heart of its business. "River Island has placed
technology at the core of our strategy, implementing ground up investment
and ensuring everyone within the company thinks and operates in a digital
first way," said Ben Lewis, Chief Executive Officer in a statement.
"We are plugging into something new as we move forward, positioning our
thinking and development against the very best in the tech sector – we want
to be renowned in the industry as pioneers, seeking out the best people and
nurturing talent."
The new office will also serve as River Island's technical and digital hub
to support the development of new in house projects.
