German fashion company Steilmann Group is set to make its UK comeback after filing for bankruptcy this February.

Steilmann, the womenswear brand from the company, is set to officially relaunch in the UK next year, in time for the Autumn/Winter 2017 season, at the February edition of Moda Woman, in Birmingham. Rights to the Steilmann brand, design and products have been acquired by German department store group Adler Modemärkte AG. The department store group appointed a small team of former Steilmann employees, including former product manager Bjoern Reich, to breathe new life into the brand.

The brand's autumn/winter collection will consist of a dedicated line of 120 pieces, which are said to have build on Steilmann's brand DNA and signature handwriting, according to WWB. Steilmann aims to relaunched in the UK, Ireland, Russia, the Czech Republic and Scandinavia first before focusing on other markets. That is why Fashion Hse, the former distributor of Steilmann in Ireland has been appointed as the brand main distributor in the UK and Ireland.

"We are very excited to be bringing Steilmann back to market," said Marc O'Rourke to WWB. "It was a core label for many independents and left a big gap behind. The collection carries the same signature that Steilmann was known for, and we will be primarily targeting former stockists of the brand before rolling it out to any new clients."

Steilmann is set to make its official return to the UK at Moda Woman, running from February 19 to 21 at the NEC in Birmingham.
