French contemporary label Tara Jarmon has been acquired by AMS Industries. The brand, which was founded by Tara and David Jarmon and owned by them for the past 30 years, was acquired by their new holder last week. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
“It’s a beautiful brand, one of the last French nuggets,” Jean-Paul Bize, founder of the family-owned diversified concern, said in a statement to WWD. “We’re going to give Tara Jarmon the means to grow, particularly in Asia and also the U.S.”
Tara Jarmon currently has 700 points of sale, including 50 boutiques and 60 department store partners. In addition, they also have 600 multi-brand doors.
Last year, the label generated sales of 111 million dollars.
AMS Industries also owns stake in Tecla, Poiray, and Aurélie Bidermann, among other companies.
As AMS Industries works to grow their business, their challenge will be the tough and saturated market contemporary brands are facing right now. AMS will later outline their plans to help the business grow, and should be sure to keep this in mind
