London - A ship is lost without its captain, a plane without its pilot and a car cannot drive without its driver. Strong leaders have always been needed to lead and realise companies visions for the future - whether they be short-term or long-term goals. Even though it remains a challenging period to be a CEO, especially within the fashion industry, a select number of individuals have succeeded beyond expectations and made it onto the list of the world's top 100 best-performing Chief Executive Officers, ranked annually by the Harvard Business Review magazine.

Below are the top 10 fashion CEO's who have made it onto the 2016 list.

This year sees three leading CEO's from the fashion industry make it into the business magazine's general top ten ranking - Pablo Isla, CEO from Inditex is ranked as the third best performing CEO, followed by Herbert Hainer from German sportswear giant adidas in fourth place and Bernard Arnault from luxury conglomerate LVMH in seventh place. Mark Parker, CEO of Nike was edged out of the top ten, ranked in eleventh place.

The majority of the best performing CEO's from within the fashion industry stem from the birthplace of capitalism - the United States.
