British department store group Marks & Spencer has shown its support for the 'Made in Britain' label once again by seeking out cotton made in the UK.

M&S is said to be one of the first customers to sign up to the first cotton mill to open in the UK in more than 30 years. Located in Greater Manchester, English Fine Cottons return to cotton production was fuelled by the increasing demand for luxury goods made in the UK. The mill aims to become a true 'Made in Britain' business by producing the finest quality cotton yards in the world.

The mill, which aims to be fully operational from this autumn onwards, will become the only cotton spinners in the UK once open. English Fine Cottons has invested upwards of 5.8 million pounds in restoring Tower Mill, a cotton mill located in Dukinfield, according to the Mail on Sunday, an initiative which is said to created 120 new jobs.
