Former London fashion week designer Matthew Williamson has expanded his design skills in the launch of his debut colouring book.

Created for adults, fashion fans and colouring fans alike, the debut book "Matthew Williamson: Fashion, Print & Colouring," is said to explore Williamson own career spanning the last twenty years. The 102 paged book, which is published by Laurence King, features selected designs from his collection, research sketches, points of inspiration and behind the scene images and prints, such as his Butterfly Wheel.

"It’s a look back on my fashion career, specifically print, over the last 20 years," said Williamson to WWD on the book. "We’re celebrating that milestone of our business with this book. It’s kind of a spin-off of the coloring book trend and craze that we’ve all seen. But this book kind of shows the process and the inspiration behind all the prints that I’ve chosen before you get the chance to color your own. So it’s kind of a little more in-depth."

"It’s intended to sort of show the reader how we got to that final print and the product we made from it. So it’s intended to inspire before you actually try and create your own version." The colouring book launch comes as Williamson focuses on restructuring his brand's business to take on direct-to-consumer approach, offering both apparel and lifestyle products. In addition to his fashion collections, Williamson continues to collaborate with Debenhams for Butterfly, a home and fashion range, with the Rug Company and Osborne and Little, a wallpaper and paint company.

His debut colouring book is set to hit stores this Thursday and is available online for 15.95 pounds (18.95) euros. Williamson will be signing the first 100 copies of the book for customers who purchase it online.
