Pringle of Scotland is set to celebrate its 200th anniversary this year by honouring its Scottish heritage in an exhibition dubbed “Fully Fashioned: The Pringle of Scotland Story” at the Serpentine Gallery on February 22, the same day as the label's show during London Fashion Week.

The unique exhibition will feature archive pieces from Scottish museums, photographs, films, items from private collections and pieces from the label which trace the origins of the company founded by Robert Pringle, the label’s transformation from hosiery manufacturer to outerwear and highlight the importance of knitwear today. After the short preview at the Serpentine Gallery, the exhibition will tour through the US and Asia before reaching display in Edinburgh’s National Museum of Scotland from April 10 to August 16, 2015.

The label has also collaborated with the Michael Clark Dance Company to create a series of brand films which will be featured in the exhibition, alongside with its latest marketing campaign, featuring “great scots” such as model Stella Tennant and artist David Shrigley, shot by illustrated photographer Albert Watson.

In addition to the exhibition, Pringle of Scotland will also launch a new interactive service named Deconstructed, which will allow customers the freedom to create their own personal cashmere sweater or cardigan. “This will be a truly Scottish cashmere item, with the yarns from Todd & Duncan [based in Kinross], delivered in between six to eight weeks,” said chairman Douglas Fang to Drapers. “It’s a one of a kind service.” Prices begin at 995 pounds for the service, which will be previewed in March before launching online and in selected stores.
