Bread & Butter says Final Goodbye

Berlin based fashion trade fair Bread & Butter has sent out an final message officially announcing its demise. Bread & Butter is dead, long live Bread & Butter' read the final line in the message.
When FashionUnited called Bread & Butter's head office, press officer Tanja Tawakkoli confirmed the end of BBB. "Yes, it is over. It is the end of Bread & Butter. We have been taken over by Zalando." When asked if there was a possibility that the trade fair event would be launching a new format together with the online retailer, the response was short and to the point. "I don't know."
The announcement was not unexpected. Things began going downhill for the Berlin fashion trade fair last year after its managing director Karl Heinz Muller filed for bankruptcy. Then following its final curtain call, a small summer edition held in its old stomping grounds at Berlin Tempelhof earlier this month which saw roughly 200 exhibitors, and news of a new owner in the form of online giant Zalando, it seemed time to pull the plug on the current Bread & Butter.
Although the trade fair organization previously suggested plans for future events which would include consumers days, it seems as if Bread & Butter's new owners have had a change of heart and decided to close its doors for good and start afresh with a totally new concept, leaving the old Bread & Butter behind.
