Bubble London names Rising Star finalists

UK kids’ tradeshow, Bubble London, has shortlisted nine launch brands as finalists in its Rising Star competition for AW15. The finalists, which include girlswear label Lola Myer and boyswear brand Jump Junior, will go head-to-head at this season’s show taking place from February 1-2, with the winner being crowned on the event’s opening day.

Now in its third year, the Rising Star Award was launched as a means of celebrate, showcase and supporting Bubble’s best burgeoning design-talent, and as part of the competition each finalist will be visited by the tradeshow’s panel of experts, who will learn more about their stories, products and collections at the show.

Other’s finalists includes couture dresses brand La Pitchoune, Yorkshire-based label Tweedy Gromett, whose founder, Julie, was a contestant on BBC2 show The Great British Sewing Bee, and quintessentially-English girl’s brand Holly Hastie.

They will be joined by Jam, whose wraparound dresses and adjustable dungarees grow with children, organic brand Magnus and Mouse, Scandi-style cot sheets label Panda and the Sparrow, and premium lifestyle brand Storkwerk, who will be introducing its innovative ‘The Little Globetrotter’ bib.

Bubble to showcase stars of tomorrow with Rising Star competition

The Rising Star winner will receive a free stand at Bubble London July 2015, following in the footsteps of previous Rising Stars Plumeti Rain, Raspberry Plum and Wolf + Rita. For Plumeti Rain’s co-founder Laura Pena Perez, winning the award in July 2014 was the high point of the season.

Commenting on her win in July, Perez said: “It was recognition of the effort required to launch a new brand, and we were very happy with it. Having a free booth this season will help us to continue to expand the brand, especially in the UK market. It will allow us to start getting our label known.”

Bubble London AW15 takes place from February 1-2 at The Business Design Centre, Islington and will feature more than 280 exhibitors showcasing the latest in children’s fashion, accessories, gifts and homeware.
