Buyer Power List winners announced

Trade show Pure London has revealed the winners of its 2015 Buyer Power List awards, which showcases the depth and breathe of the UK buying industry working within the fashion and footwear retail industry.

The winners were chosen by the shortlisted buyers and buying teams who were asked to peer nominate within their respective categories, across categories for the best independent, multiple, department store and online retailer, as well as individual awards for buyers across womenswear, menswear, footwear and accessories.

The awards closed the second day of the London trade show and saw Laura Ferguson from Sisters Boutique take home the Best Individual Womenswear Buyer award ahead of tough competition from buyers from Lipsy, The Women’s Society Boutique, Lux Fix, and A Hume Country Clothing.

Commenting on her win, Ferguson said: “I am over the moon to know that I have won Best Individual Womenswear Buyer through the votes of my peers, who have some incredible businesses. It is very special and means so much to me.”

Other winners included Avoca scooping the Best Independent Buying Team, while Anthropologie were awarded the Best Multiple Buying Team, and Hoopers took home the Best Department Store Buying Team ahead of McElhinney, Bentalls, and Fenwick.

There were also wins for Atterley, who claimed the Best Online Buying Team, ahead of finalists TheCorner.com, Asos, Avenue 32 and Saxa.

For the individual awards, Ravi Grewal from Stuarts London took the menswear buyer accolade, Gerry Demopoulos from Tower London scooped the footwear honour, and Jan Shutt, from Sunday Best the accessories buyer award.

Pure London’s portfolio director Julie Driscoll, said: “These awards shine a spotlight on those buyers and buying teams that continue to strive and make a significant difference to the fashion retail industry.
