Meet the Manufacturer, the fashion and textile trade fair, conference and sourcing event for UK manufacturing has set the date for its third annual event which is set to be its biggest yet.

Set to occur on May 25 and 26, 2016 at the Old Truman Brewery in London, the event has doubled the amount of space to 50,000 square feet to accommodate more stands in its exhibition area, as well as more workshops and seminars and additional networking areas. The trade event is set to showcase over 100 British apparel manufacturers, textile mills, leather-good makers and suppliers.

“Meet the Manufacturer is a platform for leading industry figures to come together to support UK manufacturing and for buyers and designers to find textile and garment production in the UK,” said Kate Hills, founder and CEO of Make it British, the organisers behind the event.

“There’s an air of confidence in the industry at the moment and ‘made in Britain’ is back in fashion but the debate continues that whilst in theory it’s possible to make anything here, a lot needs to be done in terms of investment, education, public perception and good old fashioned hard work and ambition.”
