Pure London opens nominations for second Buyers Powers List

UK fashion trade fair Pure London has launched its second Buyers Power List in order to celebrate the top buyers and buying teams from across the country. The annual awards are currently open for nominations and will be part of the event in August to recognise the achievements of fashion and footwear retailers.

Fashion retailers are invited to nominate themselves, their buying teams or another retailer they admire and whose work has made an "outstanding difference" to the industry. Brands and suppliers have the opportunity to nominate buyers who stand out among the crowd with a unique vision, focus, passion and creativity. The winners from the inaugural 2014 competition were all pleased with their peer-voted awards and Pure London aims for its 2015 to be as equally successful.

"Buyers and buying teams are central to the retail industry, but their efforts and achievements are often overlooked in favour of the overall retail success stories," commented Julie Driscoll, Portfolio Director for Pure London at i2i Events Group. "The Buyers Power Lost shines light on those making a real difference, not just each season but all year round; the awards are wholly unique in their peer-voted, personal nature, which we know to be greatly valued by all buyers and retailers involved."

The awards will be divided into eight categories, with a new addition of dedicated awards for menswear and accessories for 2015, including Best Independent Retailer, Best Multiple Retailer, Best Department Store and Best Individual Menswear and Womenswear Buyer. Nominations for the awards can now be made through the Pure London website, with the deadline for entries falling on July 3. Shortlisted finalists will then be asked to rank fellow nominees within each category in order to elect the winner.
