Merrell and YMC have revisited the Moab 2 Slide for a second joint release, pairing the outdoor brand's slip-on silhouette with the London label's workwear-derived design vocabulary in two new suede colourways.

The Moab 2 Slide x YMC arrives in Black and Dark Walnut as a limited edition. Construction centres on a hairy suede upper with a rubber toe cap for protection, a leather footbed cover, and Merrell's Air Cushion in the heel for shock absorption. The shoe sits on a Vibram Ecostep Recycle outsole made with 30 percent recycled rubber, specified for grip in wet and dry conditions.

The drop goes live exclusively at YMC.com and YMC's own stores on Friday, priced at 150 dollars, 130 pounds or 150 euros. It reaches Merrell.com and selected global retailers ten days later, on September 21.

Noreen Naroo-Pucci, chief product officer at Merrell, said: "We have always admired how YMC approaches design with restraint, purpose and intentionality. This second collaboration gives us the opportunity to revisit an iconic Merrell silhouette through a more refined lens, while keeping the comfort, utility and outdoor credibility that make the Moab franchise so trusted."

The two brands first worked together on the same silhouette for spring/summer 2025, when the slide launched in blue and dark grey brushed suede. That version drew on traditional workwear and military uniforms; the follow-up leans further into premium materials and finish.

"Following on from our last collaboration with Merrell, we wanted to continue with our take on the Moab slide. The shoe is a style that I believe can integrate seamlessly into someone's life who lives between the city and the outdoors which so many of us do. The shoe feels like it fits just right into the YMC uniform. Merrell has always created shoes that stand the test of time and push innovation. It's been a pleasure to bring this shoe to life together," Sage Toda-Nation, creative director at YMC, said.

The launch campaign is built around kite flying, taking its cue from the work of the late Peter Powell and the history of Peter Powell Kites. It tracks a kite from its construction in the studio to being flown outdoors, and is accompanied by a short film.
