Carhartt expands workwear line with Newcastle overshirt
American workwear brand Carhartt has unveiled the Newcastle Overshirt. According to a press release, it is a versatile garment designed for sectors including construction, installation, logistics, landscaping and maintenance. It can be worn as a light work jacket on cool mornings and as an overshirt later in the day.
The overshirt is made from a hard-wearing stretch fabric with a herringbone texture. It features Rugged Flex technology, which moves with the wearer when bending, reaching, lifting and climbing. A relaxed fit and a stretch panel on the back provide extra freedom of movement. The garment can be worn on its own or over a T-shirt or sweater.
Storage is provided by chest pockets with a flap and button; a narrow pocket for a carpenter's pencil or marker; two cargo pockets with a concealed zip; and two front hand pockets. The main seams are triple-stitched and the cuffs are adjustable. The stretch fabric weighs 258 grams per square metre.
The Newcastle Overshirt is available from workwear wholesalers and online, for a recommended retail price of 99.99 euros.
