Milan-based fashion house Jil Sander, owned by Italian group OTB, and American eyewear brand Oliver Peoples have released the second collection of their sunglasses collaboration. It follows the first drop in March.
The collection was designed by Jil Sander's creative director Simone Bellotti together with Oliver Peoples. It comprises three new styles, one in titanium and two in acetate, which are handmade in Japan and fitted with lenses produced in Italy.
According to the brands, the second collection moves towards rounder, softer shapes and places more emphasis on colour, with frame and lens combinations ranging from tonal pairings to stronger contrasts.
"It's a collection that plays on contradictions: extreme Japanese precision for an organic, fluid feel," Bellotti said. He pointed to the acetate frame of Edition 9, which widens towards the bottom.
The titanium style, Edition 7, combines a rounded frame with a sculpted top bar and curved temples, and comes with adjustable nose pads and Oliver Peoples glass lenses. Edition 9 is cut from thick acetate, giving the front an angular look, and carries small gold engravings, including 'handcrafted in Japan' on the temple tip.
Edition 10, also in acetate, has a rounded, upswept shape and curved temples. Each of the three styles is available in four frame and lens combinations.
The brands present the collaboration as part of Bellotti's work to establish his vision at Jil Sander, where he has been creative director since March 2025.
