Paris-based fashion house Karl Lagerfeld has partnered with American footwear brand G.H. Bass on a footwear capsule for fall/winter 2026. The collaboration centres on the penny loafer and coincides with two milestones for G.H. Bass: the brand's 150th anniversary and the 90th anniversary of its Weejuns penny loafer.

Founded in Maine in 1876, G.H. Bass introduced the Weejuns in 1936, a style the company describes as the first penny loafer. For the capsule, Karl Lagerfeld has reworked the silhouette with its own design codes.

Seven styles for men and women

The collection comprises seven styles across menswear and womenswear. Each design features a silver K/Autograph coin set in the traditional penny keeper, a nod to the loafer's signature detail.

The loafer comes in three versions: polished black, a black and white contrast design, and a black edition embossed with tone-on-tone Karl Lagerfeld Icon motifs.

According to Karl Lagerfeld, the capsule is designed to complement its fall/winter 2026 ready-to-wear collections for women and men, to be worn with tailoring as well as everyday pieces.

The Karl Lagerfeld x G.H. Bass collection is available from October 2026 in Karl Lagerfeld stores, on the websites of both brands and through selected wholesale partners.
