New York's Plaza hotel, part of Fairmont, and French brand Lacoste have brought back their tennis-season collaboration, running from 12 August to 6 September, according to a press release. The tie-up spans hospitality, hotel installations and retail during the city's tennis season.
At its centre is the return of Le Café Lacoste, the brand's café concept, to the hotel's Palm Court with a reimagined afternoon tea. The menu, created by executive chef Muhannad Al Ateem and executive pastry chef Kevin Clemenceau, mixes French flavours with tennis references and includes the signature Café Lacoste Polo pastry.
Beyond the tea, the collaboration extends through the hotel. The Fifth Avenue entrance steps are wrapped in Lacoste green, the lobby features a tournament-inspired installation, and the historic Edwardian Room houses an exclusive Lacoste retail pop-up with accessories, limited-edition pieces and co-branded apparel created for the collaboration. Themed cocktails, music and décor round out the experience.
"Last year's partnership was a grand slam, and we're thrilled to build on that success this season," said Sam Ioannidis, managing director of The Plaza, who added that the two brands share an interest in timeless style and craftsmanship.
The Le Café Lacoste afternoon tea runs from 12 August to 6 September at the Palm Court, 768 Fifth Avenue, daily from 11am to 4pm, priced from 150 dollars, with reservations available through OpenTable.
