PS20 Amsterdams Blauw - The Underground Blues
loading...
PS20 Amsterdams Blauw takes a look back through art history and finds inspiration by way of two gangs of master painters. Pack number one is led by impressionist master Pablo Picasso. Set in the early 1900s, Picasso and his overall-clad, paint-splattered contemporaries burst onto the Parisian scene with their every-shade-of-blue renderings of the world around them. Sixty years later, across the Atlantic, a second gang is forming in grungy Lower East Manhattan - hosted by Andy Warhol at The Factory.
Despite being separated by decades and oceans, the two masters and their respective gangs are connected by the same fiery ambition and ideology: both gangs forge new genres and break open art for the masses. These two gangs and their unique code for creativity set the scene for a new season; a riotous adventure of passion, colour and culture with always an Amsterdams Blauw signature wink.

The Blue Period
Underpinned by Picasso’s blue period, this delivery is grounded in the artist’s favourite hue. Sometimes clear and deep; other times pastel and powdered – there’s no mistaking this delivery’s key shade.
Denim goes utility chic and transformed by bandana-esque pattern and artworks. Fine pinstripes and scripty artworks add extra creative flair. Ruffles and sheer textures are a nod to Parisian chic for girls, while bold checks and logo artworks add jolts of artful blue for boys. As with the women’s and men’s, we give extra attention to the Ams Blauw classics – our denim minded classics from the perfect jean to the spot-on Breton.
The November colour card is a Picasso-inspired blend of blues and purples: from powdered sugar blue to lavender for girls. French reds, whites and blues get fresh contrast with khakis and military browns for both collections; while neon orange, tomato red and bubble-gum pink for girls make bright accent shades.

Factory Culture

Earthy rusts, brick red and retro yellow clash with pop-art-inspired fluorescent pinks for both collections, while boys get a hit of scribble green and deep purple.
For girls, workwear-influenced styles meet plissé pleats, while touches of teddy texture deliver the season’s snuggly coats. For boys, new twists on pied-a-poule amp up denim and other seasonal staples.

Scotch & Soda Club Nomade
Scotch & Soda Club Nomade is gym inspired design, made for everywhere but the gym. Comfort sweats with an extra dose of tailoring for easy style in down time. Created as a tight, travel-ready edit, Scotch & Soda Club Nomade sports-neutral base shades are accented each season with a fresh pop of colour.
For PF20, the capsule’s off-duty basics play with the idea of easy-going Sundays in super-soft and oversized separates. Après gym on-the-go-layers are inspired by technical parkas, and fabrications move in a cleaner, more tailored direction for a comfortable take on dressed-up style.
The capsule’s ongoing base palette of white, ecru, sand and black is paired with a fluorescent pink accent shade for girls; and neon green for boys.
Artworks:
This season, Scotch & Soda Club Nomade logo executions appear in new side-angled placements. The overall outlook is even more refined thanks to a scaled-down logo and an embrace of tonal hues.
