Halloween is a treat for retailers

Halloween has been officially established on the UK retail calendar, and this year retailers are expected

to see a reported 240 million pounds of related sales.

According to forecasting figures from global market research and insight group Mintel, the latest estimate will be 10 million pounds higher than in 2013 and the survey suggests 58 percent of 16-24 year olds plan to spend on Halloween products this year.

Three in five UK parents bought products or services for Halloween last year for their children, rising to 73 percent with children aged 6-12.

According to the survey, 25 percent of parents bought fancy dress items last year.
