Department store chain John Lewis is close to signing

a deal to open its fourth London Store at an extension of the Westfield London shopping centre in Shepherd’s Bush.

According to The Telegraph, John Lewis is keen to open at the west London site but a final decision will be taken at a board meeting for the John Lewis Partnership scheduled for next month.

Westfield London has outline 1 billion pound plans to extend its shopping centre to include 550,000 square foot of retail, led by a department store, along with 1,500 homes, restaurants and offices.

If John Lewis do decide to go ahead they would provide competition to the Marks & Spencer, Debenhams and House of Fraser stores already at the Westfield centre.

Currently, John Lewis has London stores at Oxford Street, in Brent Cross shopping centre, and inside Westfield’s Stratford City development.
