Business

For years the fashion industry has faithfully followed the cycle of the traditional, seasonal calendar for producing its latest collections. However, with the emergence of new business models, such as the fast-fashion business model, climate-change and increasing consumer demand, more and more retailers and brands are choosing to break away from this static system and establishing their own format. But fashion’s love for trends and newness still remains at the core of each fashion week, which is why the ninth installment of FashionUnited’s fashion industry statistics infographic series takes a closer look at the presentations for these new trends during the bi-annual fashion week cycle of global fashion weeks. Now that all the Spring/Summer 2017 collections have passed, FashionUnited shared the fashion week facts you need to know. Discover our infographic to learn on the income of the top fashion weeks, the history, the number of inflatable bananas at LFW and more.

This is the ninth installment of a new series based on the fashion statistics pages, a product of FashionUnited Business Intelligence. These pages include data on the domestic market size of apparel and footwear, facts and market values on the largest fashion companies and fashion employment statistics. Interested in more data on international fashion weeks, please contact [email protected].

The tenth and last installment will be published on Monday, 7 November, on FashionUnited.uk, FashionUnited.com, FashionUnited.in, FashionUnited.nz, FashionUnited.ca,au.fashionunited.com. The fashion industry statistics series consists of 10 installments in total, published every other week. Want to make sure you’re up to date with the industry’s latest news?
