London - The British Fashion Council is keen to make London Fashion Weekend even more consumer friendly as a new roster of traditional catwalk designers have confirmed they will join their roster of public shows this September.
Brands including Sibling, J. JS Lee, and Preen by Thornton Bregazzi are key additions to the four day event which is expected to draw 15,000 people to the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea. Much like the BFC's traditional fashion week model there will be catwalks and presentations, augmented with industry talks and shopping galleries.
“London Fashion Weekend continues to see significant growth and it has become increasingly more important for brands and designers to connect directly with their customer,” said Caroline Rush, chief executive officer of the British Fashion Council. “London is the only fashion capital to offer this direct-to-consumer experience and insight into the fashion industry, which is worth 28 billion pounds to the U.K. economy,” she added.
Mary Katrantzou, Holly Fulton and Emilia Wickstead are some designers who have previously shown their collections on London Fashion Weekend’s runway.
The shopping galleries will house a mix of British and international brands including 150 men’s and women’s brands for every budget.
The event is sponsored by Canon and Lavazza and will run from September 22 to 25. Tickets range from 20 pounds for access to the shopping galleries, or 200 pounds for a premium ticket which includes a drinks reception with Caroline Rush and front row seat at the Preen catwalk show.
