Founded in 2024 by former Group Financial Manager Sepideh Asghari, Sepi Agari is shaping a bold vision for accessible luxury handbags that are conscious, authentic and timeless. Each piece is designed in Belgium and produced in Italy by haute couture ateliers and well-established manufacturers, using locally sourced high-quality materials (such as Italian leather, organic cotton linings and FSC-certified packaging). The result is a range of sleek and distinctive designs that bring heritage leather quality within reach of a new generation of consumers who are seeking purpose-driven, conscious luxury at an accessible price point.
A founder’s journey from finance to luxury
Asghari’s path to becoming a fashion entrepreneur was somewhat unconventional. Prior to launching her brand, she was working as the Group Financial Reporting Manager for Yonderland, the parent company of some of Europe’s biggest outdoor retailers. So, when she quit her job to start her new venture, she knew learning the craft was a top priority.
Her first step was a trip to Italy, where she learned from master artisans the art of leatherwork – from pattern making to design to the manufacturing process. “My goal was to create handbags that honour traditional Italian techniques while meeting contemporary expectations around sustainability and realistic pricing,” she says.
That hands-on grounding shaped the Sepi Agari ethos: meticulous attention to detail, from stitching to finishing to packaging. “Our designs are more than fashion; they’re a fusion of art, culture and heritage,” Asghari adds.
Early growth across Europe
This unique vision soon began to resonate with customers across Europe, with rapid early growth through the brand’s e-commerce site. Selective partnerships with high-end department stores across Europe followed.
But the ambition has always been broader. Markets like the UK, US and Middle East remain firmly in the brand’s sights. “When Americans or Middle Eastern customers discover European-made luxury, they immediately see the quality and heritage behind it,” Asghari notes. “That’s where we see enormous growth potential.”
The hidden challenge: Scaling logistics
As orders increased, it became clear that the business needed a robust omnichannel third-party logistics (3PL) partner that could keep pace with growing B2B and B2C demand. Traditional third-party logistics (3PL) partners required high minimum volumes and upfront investment, which weren’t a fit for a young, fast-scaling label with seasonal peaks. Since July 2025, all of Sepi Agari’s D2C and B2B distribution operations have been consolidated at Bleckmann’s distribution centre in Grobbendonk, Belgium. This strategically centralises all the brand’s inventory within the Benelux region, providing efficient transport connections to key markets.
In addition, the brand’s inventory is housed in a fully automated AutoStore cube storage system, which uses radio-controlled robots to pick orders in under a minute – reducing lead times and ensuring faster, more accurate fulfilment.
Removing the barriers to growth
