As global fashion weeks take off in September, Paris will be celebrating all things design before its catwalk shows begin in October.

The city will become a hub for design and craft beginning with Maison & Objet’s Talents à la Carte programme, which is holding open studios to showcase the work of six Parisian designers: Désormeaux/Carrette, Studio Monsieur, AC/AL Studio, Charlotte Juillard, Pierre Charrié, and Julien Vermeulen. This forms part of Paris Design Week, which will see five official parties – one for each night – take place in five separate arrondissements of Paris to celebrate local craftmanship.

Iconic department store Le Bon Marché is also celebrating the French creative spirit, and is poised to host an exhibition entitled PARIS!, which will include a selection of exclusive collaborations with Parisian artists, makers and designers.

Also on show at Le Bon Marché will be designer Philippe Model's 45m² pop-up homeware shop on the store’s second floor exhibition space.

Maison & Objet: Talents à la Carte runs from 2 – 6 September, and Paris Design Week from 3 – 10 September.
