Liam Stafford, Designer and fashion graduate from Kingston University - the largest provider of higher education in South West London which recently beat off stiff competition from 26 other leading colleges to win a prestigious British Fashion Council Award for Illustration.
Education
Studied BA (Hons) Fashion at Kingston University London and will graduate in 2010.
Achievements
One of ten students shortlisted by Banana Republic which saw designs shipped to New York in 2009.
Won a placement with established fashion design and trend forecasting company Studio M last summer.
Latest range of womenswear, inspired by his father’s work as a miner in a Cornish tin mine, will be unveiled during Graduate Fashion Week at Earls Court 2 on 7 June.
Currently working on
Customers should look out for the showpiece dress in his collection, made from panels of mohair and silk organza, adorned with clusters of Swarovski crystals.
Objectives
Stafford, who counts the late Alexander McQueen and fashion photographer Tim Walker as big influences, hopes to design for a high-end womenswear fashion company.
