Yumi Ito, Clothes Designer of 25.3 - a Shoreditch-based fashion house that designs and produces original and contemporary womenswear.

Education
Embarked on a MA in Fashion Design and Enterprise at the University of Westminster before deciding to create her own ‘one-off’ designs.

Achievements
Worked for Tokyo fashion houses making trend-conscious clothes.

Started creating clothes in 2007, drawing inspiration from art, music and everyday experience rather than following the major fashion trends.

Set up 25.3 in 2008 after feeling disillusioned by the “me too” nature of unoriginal and mass-produced products. 25.3 sell handmade clothes for women using natural materials such as cotton, silk, linen and wool.

Stocked online for UK customers and at independent boutiques in Italy and Greece and through personal stylists.

Launched Spring/Summer 2010 collection, 'losing control’, with key lines including easy wearing items such as loose tops, easy trousers and soft dresses.

Counts famous French jazz singer, Katia Goldmann, as one satisfied client.

Currently working on

Objectives
Increase customer base in the UK and continue to cater to existing and new overseas customers.
