Value supermarket retailer Aldi has launched its first complete womenswear range, joining the likes of co-German supermarker chain Lidl in offering apparel.
The full womenswear launch follows on from the retailer's Fairtrade certified cotton t-shirt launch and basic fashion offering, as Aldi aims to nab a larger market share from high street retailers.
Aldi's debut womenswear collection includes footwear and accessories, in addition to trendy apparel up to 60 percent less than established retailers such as H&M and Next. Items include a monochrome cape, retailing for 14,99 pounds, checkered plaid shirt for 8,99 pounds and floral tie front tops for 2.99 pounds. The most expensive The debut collection consists of a total of 32 pieces, in addition to seasonal items for Halloween.
"Shoppers are looking to update their wardrobes at this time of the year and we’ve tapped in to the latest high-street trends to offer our customers a great value range that doesn’t compromise on style," said Aldi’s managing director for corporate buying Tony Baines to The Mirror.
