Amanda Lepore curates NJAL

Transgender and multi-talented glamour girl Amanda Lepore curates the August collection for Not Just A Label (NJAL). Muse of David LaChapelle and fashion fraternisers, Lepore takes over from August 6th. It is the third month, the NJAL shop virtually opened its doors offering avant-garde one-off  pieces by Ute Ploier, Husam El Odeh, Gemma Slack and Asia Wysoczynska.

NJAL introduces Amanda Lepore as the curator of the The Shop during the month of August. New York pop culture icon and musician, Lepore’s eccentric lifestyle will ensure her choices for the upcoming collection will be everything she embodies.

Lepore has been connected with many in the fashion world; hosting fashion parties around the globe, featuring in the work of photographer David LaChapelle and hosting a Dior Homme catwalk show. She modelled for Heatherette, MAC, and swatch; performed with Grace Jones, plus an impromptu performance at Jodie Harsh's night Circus in London.

Not Just A Label is a London based online platform for emerging graduates and design talent, counting more then 1,700 fashion designers from over 44 countries. Through an unlimited global showroom, matching demand and supply with individuality, creativity, diversity and talent, NJAL provides a free platform for budding designers.

The Shop was launched in May 2009. So far, Robin Schulié, head buyer of Maria Luisa Store in Paris, and editor of cult-favourite blog Diane Pernet were featured as the hosts and curators of its monthly.
