Womenswear retailer Anthropologie announced the extension of its sizing range. Called APlus by Anthropologie, its line of sizing from 16W to 26W will be available from March 15. The new clothing category will encompass the same trends and fabrics as the current standard and petite and standard sizing ranges.

Anthropologie will sell around 100 APlus pieces in 10 store locations in the U.S. and Canada at the category's launch, which will cost roughly the same retail price as the current ranges.

“Inclusive sizing is something I knew when I arrived that we would want to do, but we had to focus on getting our foundation reset before we started to build that business,” Anthropologie co-president Hillary Super told WWD. “We wanted to be thoughtful about all of the elements, the digital experience, the store experience, the offering, and we took time to think through all it.”

The key fashion messages of the core Anthropologie brand will carry through to the APlus range. Super explained that 80 percent of the initial offerings were designed in-house, while the retailer has received positive responses from its market partners who already produce extended sizing, such as Cloth and Stone and DL1961 premium denim.

To celebrate the introduction of APlus, Anthropologie is hosting a launch event in LA on March 12 to introduce stylists and influencers to the line. Additionally, Anthropologie's Rockefeller Center flagship in New York will feature APlus items in its store windows at the time of the launch.
