To ensure steady growth while not falling prey to luxury-goods groups LVMH or PPR, companies such as L'Oreal would come out favourable as they are debt-free and are looking to find new external growth opportunities. Giorgio Armani owns his business outright while many of his rivals have rushed to be floated on the stock market or be taken over by multinational groups.
