When Fashion Week is around the corner the industry is filled with excitement to find out what kind of invites will be delivered on one's doorstep. To honour the most interesting invites, DesignLibrary presents ‘RSVP. Thousand fashion, art and design invites’, a project by Ines Paolucci and Patrizia Scarzella in collaboration with Silvia Motta.
Invites from the creative communities have been selected, because they are unusual, fun and exciting. The exhibition showcases 1000 invites from presentations and fashion shows for design and fashion weeks in Milan. Luxury label Moschino known for its creative attention to detail, a whole section of the exhibition has been dedicated to the designer brand.
Moschino’s Creative Director Rossella Jardini says: “The invite for a Moschino Show is an introduction. A foreword to a story that the Fashion Show will tell. I think since the beginning of our history the invite has been a short explanation that puts the guest at ease: it is like when you invite somebody to dinner, it hints at what is to come. It is in this way that the invite is very important, because it gives in advance details that will be unveiled during the fashion show as part of the collection itself."
The exhibition ‘RSVP. Thousand fashion, art and design invites’ will run from 21-28th October 2009 at the DesignLibrary in Milan.
