Audrey Tautou to front Chanel No 5

Chanel has announced it is replacing Nicole Kidman as the face of its iconic perfume No 5, with French actress Audrey Tautou fronting its new campaign. The perfume has been a best-seller ever since Marilyn Monroe announced it was what she wore to bed and according to Agencies the fashion house has perfected the art of celebrity endorsement.

In keeping with its tradition of choosing emerging stars with a distinct sense of style, Chanel chose Audrey Tautou, the star of cult film Amelie and the Da Vinci Code.

Another film is expected to be release early next year following Baz Luhrmann's cinematic ad featuring Nicole Kidman, this time directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

This is the third collaboration between Audrey Tautou - he also directed her in the films Amelie and A Very Long Engagement.
