Fashion is all about change, so it should come as little surprise that Mercedes-Benz Berlin Fashion Week is set to relocate to a new venue. IMG, the organizers behind the bi-annual fashion showcase, have announced a new location for Mercedes-Benz Berlin Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2017 shows.

The event will be held at The Kaufhaus Jandorf at Brunnenstrasse in Mitte from next season onwards. "IMG aims to inspire, showcase and unite fashion’s key creators while highlighting the unique elements of the cities that host our global fashion events," said Catherine Bennett, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, IMG Fashion Events & Properties in a statement.

"Kaufhaus Jandorf’s historic architecture perfectly reflects Berlin’s urban environment, and we are excited to be working in this new space," she added. "Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin will be the first week long fashion event in this location, creating new opportunities for designers to best present their creative visions."

The historical building is located within the city centre, just a stone's throw away from the Rosenthaler Platz. The building has a long history with the fashion industry - in 1927 it was taken over by the department store group Hermann Tietz and was home to the 'House of Fashion' from DDR after 1945.

Prior to the new location, Mercedes-Benz Berlin Fashion Week held its Aw 16 shows and presentations in two different locations - one the Erika-Heß Ice Rink and the Collectors Room, located in the center of Berlin. Before that, the event took place in a tent set up outside of the Brandenburg Gate.

The next edition of Berlin Fashion Week is set to take place from Januart 17 to 20, 2017. Additional information on the new venue, designers, event and presentations to take place will be released over the next few weeks.
