Betsey Johnson is joining the online vintage market with a capsule collection of limited-edition archive pieces. The designer, known for whimsical designs that verge on the edge of punk, will release an exclusive collection of original vintage styles on her website. The collection will be available April 15.
With a price range of 58 dollars to 198 dollars, the collection will have pieces featuring some of the designer’s most iconic patterns, such as a fuchsia dress cherries and kiss marks.
The launch of the collection will take place following Johnson’s open-heart surgery, which occurred earlier this month. According to a rep for the designer to Page Six, the designer is “recovering wonderfully.” Johnson plans to be fully recovered by June, in time for Urban Outfitters to reintroduce one of her 1997 collections.
Johnson’s vintage collection further cements the status of vintage clothing in the mainstream market, joining the ranks of Guess, H&M, and independent vintage sellers.
