What happens if you are a budding designer and half way there, but don’t have the funding to keep things going? The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced that they are accepting applications for Fashion Forward sponsorship. As part of the BFC’s support for young British design talent, Fashion Forward offers funding for production of a catwalk show during London Fashion Week. Established in September 2006, internationally renowned designers such as Giles, Jonathan Saunders and Sinha-Stanic have all benefited from Fashion Forward sponsorship.

Those qualified to apply for sponsorship are designers who currently show on-schedule at London Fashion Week and have received New Generation funding within the last three years, or are at a similar stage of business development. Even though it’s the BFC’s primary aim to enable designers to show their collections at LFW, not all applications will be considered. It is unlikely that companies whose turnover is less than £100,000 or greater than £1,000,000 will be short-listed. A selection panel consisting of the BFC, journalists and buyers interviews applicants for the sponsorship.
