With the bizarre weather patterns this summer, we thought it would be an ideal time to mention Bond Street's Winterland event, scheduled for late November. The eponymous shopping street will be transformed into a snowy winter wonderland on Thursday 20th November for Bond Noël - the dazzling Christmas shopping event in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. Shoppers can expect a traditional Christmas Spirit to descend into the west-end, with snow falling along the world's finest boutiques and the entire length of Bond Street, fir trees lining the pavements, reindeer, carol singers, entertainers and musicians all adding atmosphere to the magnificent Christmas extravaganza. Bond Street's luxury stores will offer delectable Christmas hospitality, gifts with purchase and other festive delights, while rickshaw sleighs are on hand to whisk shoppers to and from their favourite designer stores.

Bond Street will be closed to traffic as the event gets underway at 5.00pm running through until 8.00pm.

At 6.00pm, on the corner of Old Bond Street and Burlington Gardens, Bond Street's special celebrity guest will switch on the stunning new Christmas lights signaling the count down to Christmas. The tradition of 'flicking the switch' for Bond Street at Christmas was started by Diana Princes of Wales in 1994 and has been continued by a string of glamorous and talented women including Liz Hurley, Ruby Wax, Caprice Bourrett, Jerry Hall, Trinny & Susannah, Jemma & Jodie Kidd, Thandie Newton and most recently by Sophie Dahl.

Visitors to Bond Noël can enjoy all the fun of the street's entertainment as well as Christmas hospitality and luxury Christmas shopping until 8pm, in all the famous stores on Bond Street and the surrounding area. There will also be a chance to win over £10,000 worth of fabulous prizes, donated by Bond Street brands, in the luxury Tombola all in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. Gifts include luxury items and hundreds of pounds worth of vouchers from stores such as: Asprey, Cartier, DKNY, Bally, Tiffany & Co., Montblanc and Burberry plus unique gifts experiences donated by Claridge's, The Ritz London, Brown's Hotel and The Royal Academy of Arts.
