Thursday was the evening of the British Fashion Awards, the industry's most glamorous annual affair. Kate Moss took home the honour of model of the year over nominees Erin O'Connor and Alek Wek. Moss' career has skyrocketed this year, and as was recently reported, in the past 12 months Moss has been re-signed by the major fashion houses, allegedly doubling her salary. She recently signed a lucrative £3million contract with Top Shop and Arcadia owner Phillip Green to create a new fashion range.
Other winners at the ceremony, which took place at the Victoria and Albert Museum in South West London include fashion darling Giles Deacon, who recently launched a collaboration with Mulberry, for designer of the year, and Vivienne Westwood, who won the Red Carpet Designer award.
Directional boutique B Store, who's success in its new Savile Row premises has not gone unnoticed, beat Harrods and Liberty to the retailer of the year award and Joan Burstein took the outstanding achievement in fashion award for her role in launching major designers such as John Galliano, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein and Giorgio Armani.
